The Sierra del Escambray is the second biggest mountain range of Cuba and it is located in the south center of the island in the province of Villa Clara, Northeast of Cienfuegos and to the west side of Santi Spiritus. The mountains belonging to the Cubanacán dome or also known as Santa Clara Heights. This small mountain range, with a maximum height of 1’140 m point Punta de San Juan
